Justine Aaron Co (IBDP 1B) is set to become the fourth Judenite to represent the Philippines in the International Geography Olympiad. He secured the first runner-up award in the Philippine Geography Olympiad (PGO) held last February 28 and March 1, 2026, and was also recognized as the Top Scorer in the qualifying round.
Aside from Justine, Ethan James Cheng (IBDP 1A) also advanced to the semifinal stage of the competition. With these achievements, Saint Jude Catholic School was recognized as one of the top-performing schools in the 15th PGO.
Meanwhile, the poster prepared by Eryn Callie Co (Grade 10C) and Reilyn Abbigayle So (Grade 10C), together with Justine and Ethan, advanced to the final round of the poster-making subevent. The entire delegation was mentored by Mr. Russel Odi.
Justine now aims to follow in the footsteps of the first Judenites who competed in the IGeO. Charles Anderson Tiu, Daniel Vincent Co, and Ryan Abigan collectively brought home two silver medals and three bronze medals for the country.
Notably, Justine has also distinguished himself in another international competition. He is SJCS’s first medalist in the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA), having earned a bronze medal at the 18th IOAA in Mumbai, India last year.
Congratulations, Judenites! And best of luck to Justine as he prepares to represent the country at the International Geography Olympiad.
