Saint Jude Catholic School Welcomes the SVD 150th Jubilee Mission Lamp
With hearts burning with faith and gratitude, Saint Jude Catholic School (SJCS) joyfully welcomed the Society of the Divine Word (SVD) 150th Jubilee Mission Lamp, on October 20, 2025, commemorating 150 years of the SVD’s mission of proclaiming God’s love to all.
The Jubilee Mission Lamp, symbolizing the enduring light of faith and missionary zeal of the SVD, journeyed from the different SVD missions in Palawan before being delivered to SJCS from the Parish of the Risen Christ in Smokey Mountain, Tondo, Manila. After its stay at SJCS, the Lamp was brought to the St. Arnold Janssen Parish in Cainta, Rizal on October 26, 2025, continuing its pilgrimage of faith across communities.
Guided by the theme “Witnessing to the Light: From Everywhere, for Everyone,” the celebration brought together administrators, faculty, staff, students, and members of the SVD community in a moment of prayer, reflection, and thanksgiving. The event was highlighted by cultural performances of students from different grade levels, showcasing he diversity and unity of the SJCS community as they expressed their faith and gratitude through song, dance, and creative presentations.
The arrival of the SVD Jubilee Mission Lamp served as a powerful reminder of the school’s deep connection to its SVD roots and its shared mission of evangelization and service. As part of this historic celebration, SJCS reaffirmed its commitment to continue being a beacon of faith, excellence, and compassion, living out the call to witness the Light, from everywhere, and for everyone.
