Tuesday, 05 December 2017

Congratulations and good luck to the six Judenites who made it to the Area Stage of the Philippine Mathematical Olympiad (PMO), the biggest Mathematics competition in the country.

After passing the qualifying stage held last October 28, the students took a second examination last November 25. The second stage of PMO involves four areas, Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and NCR. For NCR, the competition was held at the Institute of Mathematics, UP Diliman. The results are expected to be released on or before December 20.

The top three individuals for each area will be given awards and the top 20 all over the country will be attending the National Finals in January and will have the chance to be part of the selection team for the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO).

Matthew Isidro (SHS 12C), Jinger Chong (IBDP 11A), and Stefan Ong (10A) have been part of the top 20 while Steven Reyes (9A) reached the area stage last year. This is the first area stage for Naomi King (9A) and Vanessa Julio (8A).
